Harboring Champions

Do you know what it’s like to be a Champion? Our own Deanna Hengge does. She was recently named one of 50 “Communication Alumni Champions” by the McMicken College of Arts and Sciences Department of Communication at the University of Cincinnati as part of its 50th anniversary celebration. The award is bestowed upon the most grand alumnus that have graduated with a BA or MA in communication and achieved success in their careers, made a difference in their local communities or provided support to UC.

The cast of worthy Champions includes a news anchor, a reality TV producer, professors, deans and institutional administrators, entrepreneurs and professionals from across the country.

Said Deanna of her new accolades: “It feels great to be awesome.”

Her prizes are rumored to include an estate in the Northern Lands, a velvet cloak with commemorative patch, and a place in the Grand Halls of McMicken for all eternity. You can read the full article on the department’s website.
